Borobudur isn’t just about the amazing statue. Borobudur’s glotious make it become a great destination to catch the sunrise. Although, it is different from the mainstream tour. If, commonly you visited Borobudur when the sun is in the maximum point you have to change your plan! Go visit Borobudur at dawn and you will have unforgettable morning.

There are two ways to enjoy the sunrise.You can directly enter Borobudur areas and wait for it in the top of Borobudur, or you can climb the hill called “Puthuk Setumbu”.

Unfortunately, it is quite cost us much. To enter Borobudur in the morning we have to enter from a hotel that have direct access to it. You cannot directly enter from the main gate because officially it is open at 6 A.M. It will cost you Rp 250.000 for domestic tourists, and Rp 380.000 or $29 for foreign tourists.

To minimize the budget, you can enjoy the sunrise from “Punthuk Setumbu” it will cost you Rp 15.000 for domestic tourists and Rp 30.000 or (+/-) $ 2 for foreign tourists. Not only the view of great Borobudur you can also enjoy the “Merapi” mountain landscape. Besides, you have to prepare your stamina to reach the top of the hill because you have to climb a stairs.
